Andy Murray will start off the Wimbledon with his opponent being Mikhail Kukushkin, but will have some obstacles and challenges in his way if he wants to win his second Sw19. With the drawn Murray can either face the possibility of Jo Wlfried Tsonga in the last 16, Rafael Nadal or David Ferrer in the quarter final and Roger Federer in the semis, if he gets pass all the other elements and opponents that he has to face.
Kukushkin, ranked 58th in the world, lost to Murray in both of their two previous meetings. In the previous meetings that Murray won over Kukushkin, Murray dominated Kukushkin by using his strengths within his double-handed backhand and his accuracy with serving the ball on the first serve was outstanding. Murray knows that he can beat Kukushkin, but he has to remain focus on this match instead of the upcoming ones that he might have to face later on down the road. “He’s a good player, he’s had some big tournaments in the past. I think he played Rafa pretty close last year so he can play well on the grass.”He plays predominately from the baseline but he’s a good ball striker and if you give him time to dictate the points, he’s a tough guy to beat.”
