Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button is looking forward to being part of a new era for McLaren Honda.
Speaking at Honda Australia’s media conference today ahead of the 2015 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix 12 – 15 March, Button said that renewing the partnership with McLaren Honda is exciting. “We are not trying to replicate the success of the past era; we want to make our own history with McLaren Honda.”
Speaking about the Australian Grand Prix circuit, Jenson Button said he is looking forward to getting more laps under his belt in the MP4-30 at Albert Park this weekend.
“Melbourne has been very kind to me over the years,” Button said. “While we may be a year behind most other teams in experience, Honda is here to win and it’s only a matter of time until we are fighting in front.”
Button was joined by Honda Australia Director, Mr. Stephen Collins and Honda R&D Senior Managing Officer and Chief Officer of Motorsport, Mr. Yasuhisa Arai, to discuss McLaren Honda’s season debut at the 2015 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix 12–15 March.
Honda Australia Director, Mr. Stephen Collins said 2015 has started with a bang for Honda and it is thrilled to debut the McLaren Honda MP4-30 in Australia.
“Today marks Honda’s return to Formula 1 and the wider Honda Australia family is incredibly excited. We have been working closely with our Dealer network to ensure our customers gain the most from our return to the pinnacle of motorsport,” Mr. Collins said.
Jenson Button and Stephen Collins also officially unveiled the highly-anticipated NSX Concept before it is moved to Honda’s on-track display, the Honda Power Room in Legends Lane, open to visitors attending the 2015 Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix 12-15 March.
“Honda is excited to give motoring enthusiasts an exclusive opportunity to see the NSX Concept in its first public appearance in Australia,” Mr. Collins said.
