Miami has so many opportunities for any hungry artist who is willing to take chances to fulfill their dream. Jessica Vox was one of many artists who had took the risks of moving to Miami for a better opportunity in the music field. Prior to her transitioning period from New York to Miami, she had experienced a lifetime of achievements in L.A. During her time in L.A. she had dedicated herself to the rigorous conservatory training at the prestigious Idyllwild Arts Academy, while there her time was spent majoring in Musical Theatre.
“Musical Theatre has helped me build my confidence as well as my skill in this field. This is something that I had enjoyed to do says Jessica.” At times there were hurdles and obstacles that Jessica had to overcome, but she was very determined to make her dream a reality.
She had audition for American Idol and did well with her performance. The judges all had liked her voice and Simon Cowell had compared her to a “young Christina Aguilera.” That comment in itself was the uprising of this talented singer. During her chase to become an American Idol, she was one of the youngest in the top 50 that had progressed and impressed fans and the judges every week.
Despite the fact that she did not become an American Idol that year, she had made headlines and a grab the attention of fans.
She stayed in L.A. for a couple of years and decided to make her way to New York, while there she decided to to go back to school to pursue music to study Communications at Pace University in New York City. While in the land of creative atmosphere, her music started to change and mature into a different sound.
After a few years living in the Big Apple Jessica had wanted to bring her creative talents and skill to Miami. This new Jessica had emerged into a popular singer quickly in Miami. The way her songs were wrote was inspired by her mother. When her mother had passed Jessica had change the way she wrote her songs. She went from singing in a Jazz sort of way to more of an upbeat electronic feel to her music. A lot of her fans had increased, because she was doing something that was different and had created a lot of buzz.
“Sometimes you have to try different outlets to bring more fans to your music says Jessica.”
She has established industry professionals friendships such as Grammy award winning Producers and Engineers: Carlos “El Loco” Bedoya and Steve “9k” Nowa. During Miami’s largest annual music conference, Ultra Music Festival, Jessica took the stage with DJ Los De La Vega to perform her songs for the masses. Jessica was honored to perform for hundreds at “The 59th Annual Young Patronesses of the Opera Gala,” one of Miami’s oldest and most prestigious black tie affairs. Jessica was invited by Vanessa Simmons to perform for guests such as Damon John and the Simmons family at “The Vanessa Rose Fashion Show” in Malibu, California.
“It is an honor to be doing something that I love to do.” Never give up on your dream. It may take a lifetime to achieve your dream, but never give in or give up, because it will pay off in the end says Jessica”
