What is more appealing in society than a person going after their dreams in a positive manner; Actress and singer Lauren Mayhew has exclaimed more than once in her interviews that you have to be positive in order to be successful in life. Lauren has accomplished many things like starred in a PBS series called The Reppies, starred in Guiding Light, signed as an artist with Sony Records, and was former ring announcer for WWE and ECW . All of these are huge accomplishments, but Lauren has said, “Hard work will pay off, but you have to put in the work and never let anybody tell you that you can not do it. If you want to be successful, you have to want it more than anybody.”
As a woman that has been on television shows and an artist in the entertainment field, she had took risks and always remained upbeat when opportunities did not happen like she thought they were going to be. “In this field or any field you have to take the good with the bad, yes some doors will close, but you have to remain positive and make sure that you perfect your craft to the point that the no’s will turn into your dream. Dreams can happen if you have the right mindset and just go for it.”
The pros and cons can vary in with different individuals, but Lauren had a remarkable statement within that topic. “As an actress and a singer I have been to many places and seen a lot of things, but that comes within the hard work that I had to put in. Yes, I had tour with Destiny’s Child, N’sync, and Brittany Spears to name a few, but I constantly worked my tail off. Nothing was given to me! I had to go out there and show them that I meant business. Yes, the pros of doing something you love is worth it, but let me tell you about the cons as well. Some doors will be shut in your face without that person giving you a chance or making ends meet with other obligations when you are first starting off, because you are fairly new in the field, but you have to stay consistent with staying positive.”
“The key to success is having the ability to focus on the positive and not the negative. I have seen a lot of people focus on the negative instead of staying upright and positive and fall right on their face.”
Lauren has kept her mind focus on the positive and look at what she has accomplished at a very young age. She kept striving for more and every opportunity that was given to her as an actress or as a singer, she took it and made something out of it because she remained positive!
