Jarrod Greene, owner of “PASS THE ROC” is known to create a positive landscape with his presence and mindset on the responsibilities of giving back to the community. “I give back to Jersey City, because they have supported me through the tough times and through the success. Giving back to the community is very vital within myself and others; I am very thankful for the people who have supported me from day one and the ones that allow any event that I have done or will do in the near future.”
Jarrod announced the partnership between his entities and the city of Jersey City to present the “PASS THE ROC “2015 Multicultural Community Festival. The festival took place on Saturday, August 22nd from 10:00AM until 5:00PM at Audubon Park. The event had a lot of positive feedback. The message of the event was simply giving back is the real treat of success.
A lot of the community understood Greene’s message about coming together as a whole and making it success happen. “I know that being an entrepreneur can be challenging, but you have to have a support system that will always uplift you no matter what. This is what the community has given me and that is support. I know how it feels to be out there trying to get people to notice you, but you have to stand on the grind. The individuals that have supported me knew I was doing something positive and they have helped me in so many different ways with taking the right steps on making “PASS THE ROC” happen.”
The event included free food and drinks, entertainment on a sound stage by local, family friendly musicians, community appreciation presentations, retail and multicultural food vendors, music provided by DJ Midnite, and a PASS THE ROC pop up shop.
The children enjoyed a bouncy castle, while their parents or attendees enjoyed the High School 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament.
“Looking at my beloved city and the state that it’s currently in because of the wanton violence, PASS THE ROC decided to give back to the community citywide by creating a fun, exciting and family orientated festival for all the communities and diverse cultures of Jersey City to attend. Coupled with the assistance of the Jersey City Department of Recreation and enlisting the Jersey City Police Community Relations Team, we know that we will bring the community a stellar event filled with joyful entertainment for all families to enjoy.
