Swim Week is amongst us. Be prepared for an invasion of fashion shows, presentations and invite-only parties throughout Miami. One of the hottest tickets in town is the showcase for Keva J. Swimwear held July 21 at Loews Miami Beach Hotel.

Unfortunately, for laymen folks the VIP list is exclusive AF. But that didn’t stop L’Etage Magazine’s editorial team from creating a list of what to expect from the venue.
1. Swimwear For Strong Women
The invitation-only runway show promises to stun fashion spectators with the debut of Concrete Jungle 2018 S/S Collection, a spring and summer collection that is inspired by the strong women of the Big Apple. It’s all about women who survive and thrive in New York’s ruthless, fast paced environment.
“Concrete Jungle represents strong and independent women that can survive amongst the wild,” Keva Johnson, the designer, said.
A staple on the fashion scene after Keva J. Swimwear was featured on BET’s Rip the Runway, Johnson has maintained a presence in swimwear since 2006. (FYI: Clutch Magazine loves her!)
After a failed stint on BRAVO TV’s Project Runway (she placed as the first alternative but wasn’t cast), the Florida State University graduate didn’t let that stop her from making sure her swimsuits appeared on your favorite celebrities.
If her designs look familiar, its because you seen them on singers, TV personalities and actresses. Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Christina Milian, Ashanti, Rita Ora, Iggy Azalea, Angela Simmons and Julissa Bermudez–dubbed Keva’s Divas–have all worn Keva J. Swimwear.
Not bad for a designer who was told by Esteban Cortazar, head designer of Ungaro, of her collection, “You got it!”
2. An Insane Color Scheme
Attendees can expect a color scheme that features mustard yellow, army green, hot pink, and neon yellow. Keva J. Swimwear also includes an abstract black & white fabric that Johnson added for a “flare of modern design to the collection’s overall aesthetics.”
3. Glam Squad Heavy-hitters
The models will be coiffed by Brian C. Hawkins, celebrity hair stylist, and painted by Divine Image Cosmetics.
The runway show will take place on the iconic St. Moritz Lawn, where guests can enjoy hors d’oeuvres and specialty summer cocktails made by D’USSE.
4. Eva Marcille Walks The Runway
The private affair, which is also celebrating Keva J. Swimwear’s decade long anniversary, will feature America’s Next Top Model alum and winner of the third cycle, Eva Marcille.
According to Miami.com, a casting call will be held for models July 19 at Loews Miami Beach Hotel where Marcille will appear to lend a supportive hand.
Johnson, who is a major fan of Marcille (and vice versa), had nothing but kind words regarding her participation in Keva J. Swimwear’s fashion show.
“This year’s collaboration with Eva Marcille will truly make our show extra special! I’ve loved her since America’s Next Top Model and I admire her success and accomplishments,” Johnson said. “Eva The Diva and Keva The Diva will have a show stopping summer in Miami!”
Marcille will strut the catwalk while debuting her own eyewear collection, First Ave Eyewear. “I’m excited to celebrate our tenth year anniversary with our loyal clients and buyers,” Johnson said. “We’ve been able to grow our label over the years and I can’t wait to share our amazing new swim pieces and cover ups.”
5. Designer Shades
First Ave Eyewear features glossy transparent shades with rich color gradient lens that retails between $85 to $175.
6. WAGS Miami
Confirmed celebrity guests include WAGS Miami cast favorites Ashley Wheeler, Darnell Nicole, and Haiti native Hencha Voigt.
Loews Miami Beach Hotel is located at 1601 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach.
