On Saturday July, 18th, Keva Swimwear debut The Nile 2016 collection at the Ritz Carlton, while guest who had attended the private event watched the model display the unique style of the collection.
Inspired by African safaris and Egyptian glamour, “The Nile Collection”embodies Keva J Swimwear’s signature sexy styles but with a new eclectic twist. The two main prints used throughout the collection are meant to captivate the eye. Johnson used a black and white fabric in several looks to mimic the abstract shapes of palm leaves found within the jungle. The second print features a purple floral design (similar to an Egyptian Lotus Flower) with a background that is reminiscent of the waves of the Nile River which flows through Egypt and Northern Africa. By incorporating bold prints, high necklines and daring cut outs, each design is meant to be worn by confident and sassy trendsetters. “I wanted to go back to what we are known for; we are known to have daring cut outs and edgy looks. My new designs bridges the gaps between function and fashion!” says Johnson.
Keva J Swimwear partnered up with some big fashion hitters, such as Steve Madden and celebrity hair stylist and make-up artist Brian C. Hawkins. The models had did a great job with conveying the swimwear and the guest as well as the media enjoyed the collection. Eva Marcille, winner of America’s Next Top Model, actress and TV host, attended the poolside show at the Ritz-Carlton South Beach.
“I love Swim Week because it’s an opportunity for designers to showcase their ideas of the latest trends. I personally look forward to seeing a lot of bright colors, crop tops and mesh on the runways. These are all major trends for the season!” says Johnson
