Jimmy Goings: A Musician of greatness

Back in the day when music was enriching and had a passionate tone,  Jimmy Goings and the group Santa Esmeralda was emerging into a sensational band that was dedicated with giving the crowd great music to enjoy. “The music that we was producing was heartfelt and somebody in the audience could relate to and that was one of our biggest reasons why we were so successful. We had passion! We were young and motivated with how we felt about music in general to the point that the audiences that we have played for enjoyed when we got on stage.”

There were many influences that inspired Jimmy to produce such a great artwork when him and his group produce songs. One of his biggest singers that inspired him at that time was a singer by the name of Stevie Wonder. “I was just impressed with his talents and how he made you move with his music. I try to implicate some of his style within my group and as you can tell by fans, they were dancing to our music.”

As the years went by the group had branched out with their own ambitions and dreams and for a few years the band that had everybody dancing had vanished from the spotlight. ” I had birth a little boy and a little girl in this world at that time and I couldn’t give 100% of my time to the band, because my family was my priority.” As the children had gotten older Dominic Johnson, who is Jimmy’s son became a director for New Millennium, which is located in Chicago and his daughter Genevieve goings is producing shows with Disney. I am proud of both of them that they are successful within the range of music. I couldn’t be more of a proud dad.”

Jimmy is now getting older, but he stills does a lot of traveling around the globe. Recently his group came together, reformed, and changed the name of the group to Generation Esmeralda. The name was changed because it was a conflict within a person that had started the group that was no longer there. So the group had a bright idea and named it Generation Esmeralda as a tribute to Santa and a new generation of music that has been emerging.

Jimmy has been non stop producing music and recently he has produced a country album, which sounds pretty amazing. Right now the group is touring the world and Jimmy is still going even after the age of 60. “I enjoy music and this is something that I have been doing over 20 years and I just never gave up the love for music. Music is in my blood and it is something that never went away. I know that I am getting older and the travel at times is an experience with me being a little older, but I just enjoy music.”

“For those who are pursing a goal or dream never give up. Perfect your craft and be yourself no matter what!”
