Film Will Also Be Released Through the Sundance Institute #ArtistServices Program
on iTunes and Other Platforms in the US and Canada on April 21
108 Media announced today that it has acquired the North American distribution rights to BELOW DREAMS, the debut feature from writer/director Garrett Bradley, which premiered at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival. 108 Media plans to release the film in Los Angeles on April 10, 2015 and New York on April 17, 2015, with a VOD release to follow on April 21. 108 Media is also handling international sales on the film.
BELOW DREAMS is a poetic journey following the lives of three young adults as they navigate the streets of New Orleans in pursuit of employment, stardom and unconditional love. Working with an impressionistic shooting style, the film marks a return to pure cinema, unlocking the current narrative of American millennials by revealing an intoxicatingly visual account of today’s ignored youth.
“We made BELOW DREAMS under a contract of trust and passion in the city of New Orleans, without a clear vision of where it would end up. Each of us are psyched to have an opportunity to share the film with the public, particularly through the support of 108 Media, Sundance Institute’s #ArtistServices program and Obscured Pictures,”said Bradley.
BELOW DREAMS was produced in New Orleans and supported by New York’s Independent Filmmaker Project. Premiering last spring at the Tribeca Film Festival to critical acclaim (IndieWire Critics Picks: Best Narrative Feature, Best Director and Best First Feature), BELOW DREAMS went on to win a special jury award at the New Orleans Film Festival as well as Best Cinematography.
In addition to iTunes, the film will also be available on Amazon Instant Video, Google Play and VUDU on April 21.
The deal was negotiated by RJ Millard of Obscured Pictures on behalf of the filmmaker and Abhi Rastogi and Nick Burton of 108 Media.
