Patrice Jones-Nickols or also known as PatriceLive has a unique sound with her singing ability. She has been singing since she was five years of age and has a family background of musicians as well as singers that has such an amazing and unique string of talent. “I was raised in the church and church was something I loved. I would get a high when I was standing in front of the audience and singing the good word. That was something I enjoyed and it has shaped and molded me into a complete and unique singer.”
Patrice, who is known for her “choir voice” had branched out a little bit into the R&B land and enjoys singing good quality music that can make you get up and groove to the beat. “I really enjoy R&B and I feel like that R&B has died a little bit. I mean you had some great singers that just was unique and brought something different each and every time they had performed. That is something that individuals tell me all the time that I sing. They say I have a great voice and every bit of the metaphors that I piece together in my songs are just memorable.”
Patrice has her debut album entitled Ghosts of Boyfriends Past, which will be released in June of 2015 and she is really excited about her album. “I named it the Ghosts of Boyfriends Past, because it is a reflection of how I grew out of past relationships. I mean a lot of people could relate to the album, because it shows the side of when you break up with someone that you loved and how you react after the relationship. Everybody has been through some type of relationship that they needed time and growth to become the individual that they are now today.”
Patrice has been building her brand as well as relationships with her fellow musician friends including the all-female R&B/ Go-Go band Be’la Dona, along with other bands Beautiful eXperience, Kinda Blu and soul artist/producer V.Rich. “To have all the support from these individuals in my corner is a blessing. They have molded me and have encouraged me when things get down. I understand it does not take a day to become great, but these artists have always held me down and stayed in my corner when things got tough.”
Patrice has an upcoming album release party in June and is very excited for people to hear her music. “All the tears, hardwork, and dedication is paying off and it is a blessing that I am able to give good quality music back to my fans, as well as others.”
