NFl Legend and great sports broadcaster Frank Gifford passed away on Sunday at the age of 84. In a statement his family had said, “It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and friend, Frank Gifford. Frank died suddenly this beautiful Sunday morning of natural causes at his Connecticut home. We rejoice in the extraordinary life he was privileged to live, and we feel grateful and blessed to have been loved by such an amazing human being. We ask that our privacy be respected at this difficult time and we thank you for your prayers.”
Gifford played with the New York Giants his entire NFL career, from 1952 to 1964. He had huge success within his career. In 1956, he was the league’s Most Valuable Player and led the team to a championship (before it was called “The Super Bowl”). He was gifted, as well as he was crafted with his way of broadcasting. He was just a light that saw the best in any situation or individual.
NBC Sports had issued a statement regarding the passing of Frank; “Frank Gifford was an icon of the game, both as a Hall of Fame player for the Giants and Hall of Fame broadcaster for CBS and ABC,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said. “Frank’s talent and charisma on the field and on the air were important elements in the growth and popularity of the modern NFL.”
