It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Every December Miami Art Week puts the magic in magic city and transforms Miami, Miami Beach and now Coral Gables into a global art epicenter. Miami Art Week hosts over 20 international art fairs, more than 1,200 galleries and thousands of artists and art lovers to celebrate creativity and connection with cultural events galore. With so much going on below is a brief look at the events, galleries, and fairs to peruse this week.
Monday December 2, 2024
- Perez Art Museum – Scholl Lecture Series: Jerry Gogosian (Hilde Lynn Hephenstein) x Jerry Saltz x Natalia Zuluaga
- Start Miami Art Week with a panel that explores performance as art criticism featuring art world Instagram icon Jerry Gogosian and New York Magazine Senior Art Critic Jerry Saltz, moderated by Miami-based writer, editor, and curator Natalia Zuluaga.

- Miami Art Week Kick Off – Coral Gables Museum
- Miami Art Week expands its reach with the Miami Art Week Kickoff Party moving to the esteemed Coral Gables Museum. This event will include a curated art week exhibition of emerging and established artists that highlight the diverse program curated by the Miami Art Week team.
- Marlon Portales: The Last Man – Spinello Projects
- Spinello Projects presents The Last Man, the gallery debut solo exhibition by Cuban-born artist Marlon Portales. The exhibit’s grand opening is on Monday and is open to the public.The gallery will feature a series of new paintings that engage deeply with issues surrounding masculinity, identity, relationships, and eroticism. Through a combination of historical and contemporary references and aesthetics, Marlon Portales creates a body of work that is both deeply personal and universally resonant.
- Ostrow Brasserie – Art Basel Dinner
- Hosted by Amar’e Stoudemire at Ostrow Brasserie and curated by Chef Olivia Ostrow, this elegant four-course wine pairing fundraising dinner features selections from Stoudemire’s exclusive wine collection. The event also highlights the works of artists Gil Goren, Nir Segal, and Brian Poli-Dixon, with a captivating live musical performance by Venezuelan artist LAMACA. Proceeds from the evening will benefit the Amar’e Stoudemire Foundation, dedicated to empowering at-risk youth through innovative educational programs.
- Opening night Invisible Luggage at Historic Hampton House
- The museum is gearing up for the opening of “Invisible Luggage,” its second annual exhibition during Miami Art Week from December 2-15.
Tuesday December 3, 2024
- “Slawn” Grand Opening – Saatchi Yates
- Nigerian-born and London-based artist Slawn makes his grand opening with his debut U.S. exhibition at 70 NE 40th St.Slawn is recognised for intersecting street art with Abstract Expressionist styles. His work, rooted in both Yoruba heritage and contemporary societal themes, engages a wide-ranging audience. Known for his bold, primary-colored works and satirical commentary on consumerism, Slawn’s exhibition promises an electric mix of large-scale canvases and striking caricatures.
- House of Robb – Faena Miami Beach
- From December 3–5, the leading voice in global luxury, Robb Report, takes over the Faena penthouse with House of Robb, an exclusive series of panels, tastings, and networking events. A few highlights include discussions with Maserati’s head designer Klaus Busse, an intimate conversation with Faena founder Alan Faena, and a cigar lounge experience hosted by La Aurora.
- Marielle Plaisir presents “Rhapsody for a Beloved World.” – Cadillac Hotel & Beach Club
- In collaboration with the City of Miami Beach and the No Vacancy Initiative, the Cadillac Hotel hosts acclaimed artist Marielle Plaisir and her compelling piece, “Rhapsody for a Beloved World.” Through a multifaceted and interdisciplinary approach, Plaisir strives to resist harmful histories and offers hope for a better future. Plaisir draws attention to the interconnections between humans, the universality of fractured identities and the power of recognizing and describing inner worlds. Plaisir’s socially engaged works transcend temporal and cultural boundaries, serving as visual meditations on the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity. The color-drenched collage features elaborate compositions of elements, combining intricate botanical images of lush foliage with salvaged vintage black and white photographs as well as elements of landscape paintings.
- The Great Elephant Migration – 36th Street Park Miami Beach
- A public art installation of 100 elephant sculptures crafted from India that is a collaboration between Indigenous artisans, contemporary artists and cultural institutions to raise millions of dollars to power human-wildlife projects. The large herd is on display near 36th Street Park on Miami Beach through Sunday, December 8.
- Pucci Fun Fair – Miami Beach
- Pucci will host a private event at the Botanical Garden Miami Beach for clients, influencers and key opinion leaders. Described as a “fun fair” — featuring interactive games and playful activities — will kick off the event, which will then segue into a full-on party animated by Disco Bambino, who specializes in Italo-disco from the late ’70s and early ’80s.
- An Artistic Intervention By Marina Abramovic – Faena Art Project Room
- The grand opening is on Tuesday, December 3rd at 6:30pm and will be open to the public until December 8th. Presented by Massimo Dutti, this exhibition by Marina Abramović titled Nomadic Journey and Spirit of Places. This intimate exhibition invites visitors to explore over four decades of Abramović’s drawings, poetry, photographs, and reflections. Celebrating over four decades of artistry and resilience.
- Jaguar And Highsnobiety Present Copy Nothing Meets Not In Miami
- Jaguar and Highsnobiety will transform Jungle Plaza into a multi-dimensional open-air space for a unique experience curated by Jaguar and Highsnobiety all week from December 3 – December 8. Jaguar’s Copy Nothing installation features multiple galleries that highlight emerging artists and cultural pioneers in a celebration of originality and fearless creativity. The centerpiece is the global debut of its new exuberant modernist design philosophy. Complementing this is Highsnobiety’s deconstructed pool arrangement, part of its ‘Not In’ series. Reimagining Miami’s iconic pool parties, it merges vibrant energy with Art Week’s sophistication, offering a dynamic space for retail, creative expression, VIP events, and performances.
- Art Miami VIP Preview
- Collectors, curators, artists, art enthusiasts and members of the press are invited to experience an exclusive First View of the highly anticipated Art Miami and CONTEXT Art Miami.
- Context Art VIP Preview
- The can’t-miss VIP Preview is the first opportunity to acquire the finest works from the emerging, cutting-edge, contemporary and modern art movements prior to the fairs’ opening to the public the following day.
- Fatboy Slim at Faena Theatre
- Faena Theater will host Fatboy Slim’s highly anticipated afterparty.

- Kith Creative Arts Activation – Kith Design District
- Richard Beavers Gallery partnered with Kith, Kinnect by Kith, and Youth Concept Gallery to make art more accessible for young individuals from Overtown, Little Haiti, Carol City, Opa Locka, and Liberty City.The Creative Arts activation creates pathways to new opportunities through Art Fashion, Tech, Community, and Activism
- The World Is On Its Side: An Art Basel Miami + Miami Art Week Sustainability and Impact Kick-off
- Presented by B Lab U.S. & Canada and Florida for Good. Rooted in the Yoruba phrase Ayed’Egbe, meaning “the world is on its side,” this Miami Art Week kick-off event brings together art, sustainability, and social equity to contemplate the challenges of our times while honoring the creativity of Indigenous and marginalized communities. Panels, workshops, and coalition-building activities will explore the role of art in climate justice, racial equity, and building a fairer economic promise. Attendees will leave inspired by local and global impact leaders and with tools to integrate sustainability into their creative practices.
- Cosmos x Chris Rivers – Arlo Wynwood
- Chris Rivers’ exhibition Cosmos will debut at the hotel with a public reception from 6–10 p.m. on December 4. Rivers’ cosmic-inspired works deliver bursts of color with rich detailed layers.
- Arlo Wynwood is a gallery hotel experience within Miami’s arts district, which is apropos during Miami Art Week. Covering the hotel’s exterior are murals by local Miami artists Hoxxoh and MILAGROS Collective. Arlo showcases over 250 pieces of art, such as the serene plexiglass mural by Ari Robinson on the yoga deck and the phygital 3D elevator designs by Brooke Einbender.
- A Reimagination Of Disco + Design: The Future Perfect x Supermarket Creative x The Standard Spa
- A nostalgic exploration of disco’s enduring influence on design, music, and culture from Wednesday, December 4 – Sunday, December 8, 2024, 10 AM – 6 PM. Celebrating The Standard’s 25th silver anniversary and in collaboration with Supermarket Creative and The Future Perfect, this exhibition transforms three hotel rooms into the themes Wabi Sabi, Glam, and Metallic Disco.
- APEX: A Particle Expansion Show – Hotel AKA
- Hotel AKA unveils this mural created by Solento Organic Tequila co-founder and artist Todd DiCiurcio. At the unveiling a.gave, a single-barrel tequila by Solento will make its debut as well.
- Art Basel Miami Beach VIP Preview
