John Moffit is on the verge of signing with the Eagles

John Moffit, a former third-round draft pick of the Seahawks is set to sigh with the Philadelphia Eagles. After two year out of the league Moffit feels like he is ready to get back on the field and make an impact within this organization. The Eagles who recently let go of  Pro Bowl guard Evan Mathis needed someone who could fit into what coach Chip Kelly is doing.

Moffit has been an inspiration around the Eagles’ organization because he literally took two years off to give himself time to clean up his body from drugs and get his head on straight. “I have never been so proud of a guy I’ve trained than I am of John Moffitt,” FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer wrote last week. “Retired two years ago (because) he knew he had drug issues, took time to go to rehab, clean up his life, beat his demons and he has taken his life back! Guy inspires us every day.”

In his career he has started 15 games with the Seattle Seahawks, but was traded to the Denver Broncos in 2013. As a Bronco he was active for two games, but never really got the opportunity to get a chance to start because off the field issues.

If he can lasts deep into training camp with the Eagles, he will be competing with Andrew Gardner,Dennis Kelly and Kevin Graf for the opportunity to replace Mathis in the starting lineup and possibly impact the Eagles at the start of the season.
