Based in New York City and Montreal, Margit David, designed by Jacqueline Esther and Eliran Mazor, is an elegant and sophisticated brand with a cutting edge style that is suited for a specific client who is not afraid of fashion. Being a breakaway success in the business, they are true innovators of a new aesthetic in fashion and art. Each made to order piece blends feminine seductive fabrics and classic construction with whimsical and flirty detailing. The silhouettes create classic and wearable pieces that exude enough edge to catch the right eye.  They know every girl has that dream dress in her mind, and they are here to help you make that dream come true. Although Margit David is best known for its one of a kind, made to order collections, they also take pride in their custom made dresses. They work with clients one on one through meetings, fittings, sketches, swatches, and finally after a few weeks the reality of it all; your custom made dress. Margit David designs are constructed by an impressive abundance of layers, construction and depth for any piece that they create. It’s almost poetic to see just how much attention to detail goes into every one of their pieces.

Jacqueline Esther Mazor, CEO/ head designer at Margit David, always knew she wanted to be a fashion designer. She always loved dressing people but three years into the business, she could have never known how challenging it was to be in the field: to please everyone who walks through your door no matter what body type they have, how soon their event is, or what their budget is. The amount of personalities that walk through our door is endless and unimaginable; mostly amazing… and then some not so amazing! To be able to work in such an environment takes an enormous amount of patience, perseverance, and confidence…not only in the product you are selling but in yourself. And Jacqueline somehow naturally loves every minute of it. It is truly remarkable for her to get to experience clients walking through the doors and walk out with a huge smile and an incredible dress. Margit David is named after Jacqueline’s grandparents, Margit and David Kerber, who not only taught Jacqueline the art of sewing but exuded and instilled hard work and passion. Her Holocaust survivor grandparents were the muse for her line and the company, Margit, and David is dedicated to their memory.

“Growing up in Brooklyn, it was always my Zaidi David who came to pick me up from school. We would walk together back to the apartment, where my Babi Margit (or Manci, as her friends would call her) would be waiting for me with the best Hungarian dishes (because she was the best cook and baker that ever lived)! After my homework was done, she would sit down with me and show me how she would mend my grandfather’s clothes. We started sewing clothes for my dolls together, while my Zaidi quizzed me on Torah that I was learning in school. He was so proud when I answered correctly. My Grandparents, both living in Hungary, were taken from their homes along with their families by the Hungarian Fascists and Nazis in 1944. They survived the war, met and married in 1946 while looking for any family that had survived as well. MARGIT DAVID™, a made to order & custom dress company that is alive and growing! It was clear to me that I must dedicate my company to two people who have shown me what real accomplishments are. They taught me that survival comes from the inside and that having faith in Hashem will take you anywhere. I bet my Babi never thought that those doll clothes we made together would potentially one day end up on a runway. I thank them for showing me what real survival is and I hope they are looking down on me and are proud to have their name on something that means so much to me.”
