The 15th annual DJ Irie Weekend has come to a close, and it did not disappoint. Having moved from its usual summer dates to the fall season, DJ IRIE Weekend has become one of the most anticipated events of the year.
From October 10-13th, Miami’s DJ IRIE and his celebrity friends hosted nonstop events for a great cause. The four-day star-studded affair raised more than $300,000 for DJ Iries’s IRIE Foundation Charity, which works to support and empower South Florida’s youth. The Foundation’s ultimate goal is to inspire and encourage its students to graduate high school, pursue higher education, and develop into successful adults.
The weekend kicked off on Thursday, Oct 10th, with the Give from the Heart #InspIRIE Gala. More than 250 guests enjoyed a four-course meal, cocktails by Tito’s Vodka, and performances by T-Pain and Wyclef Jean.
On Friday, DJ Irie held his signature event, the IWXV Celebrity Golf Tournament, presented by Adidas. Stars that came out to show their support included Alonso Mourning, Omar Miller, Jevon Kearse, and Shane Battier. All the golfers enjoyed a variety of food experiences at each hole while enjoying Jim Beam whiskey. A day of golfing turned into an evening at LIV night club as guests made their way to the famous Fontainbleau club to party with Jaden Smith.
Saturday afternoon Oct 12th, E11EVEN and Pepsi Zero Sugar presented the IRIE Weekend Beach Bash, which featured performances by Future and Saweetie. The weather was hot, but the music was even hotter. Following the event, the party went well into the night at E11EVEN nightclub for an IWXV mega-bash where Future performed many of his greatest hits.
The last day of DJ IRIE weekend, Oct 13th ended with a kid’s golf clinic at Top Golf Miami Gardens. Dozens of South Florida’s at-risk youth spent the afternoon taking golf lessons and listening to inspiring keynote speakers. Jamie Foxx made a surprise appearance to take selfies, crack some jokes, and share words of encouragement with the excited youth.
