Live musical performances and panel conversations to take place at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden from December 6 to 9
The Tribeca Festival and Art Basel have unveiled a groundbreaking partnership that merges the realms of art, music, and film. This historic collaboration between these internationally renowned entities will feature a series of dynamic events at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden, scheduled from December 6 to 9, 2023. These events will align with the Art Basel Miami Beach event at the Miami Beach Convention Center, happening from December 8 to 10, 2023, with special preview days on December 6 and 7.
The fusion event, titled “Tribeca Festival at Art Basel Miami Beach,” promises an exciting lineup of live performances, DJ sets, and insightful discussions with leading figures in various creative fields. The complete schedule of events and appearances will be disclosed this fall.
Jane Rosenthal, Co-Founder and CEO of Tribeca, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting Tribeca’s role in shaping cultural narratives and the unique opportunity this collaboration with Art Basel presents to celebrate and explore diverse forms of storytelling. She emphasized the ubiquity of art in various forms, from film to music and immersive experiences, looking forward to honoring a new wave of creative talent this December.
Art Basel’s Director of Fairs and Exhibition Platforms, Vincenzo de Bellis, commented on the significance of this alliance. He noted that both Tribeca and Art Basel serve as pinnacle platforms for artistic expression and discovery. The Tribeca Festival at Art Basel Miami Beach aims to extend the essence of the fair, uniting acclaimed and emerging artists from the visual arts, music, and filmmaking sectors. De Bellis highlighted Miami Beach’s appeal to creatives, attributing it to the city’s unique geography, vibrant community, and exceptional venues and institutions. He expressed excitement about bringing this project to fruition in Miami Beach, alongside Tribeca and long-standing local collaborators, for both local and global audiences.
This four-day series, a first of its kind for both partners, builds on the success of Tribeca Festival’s Music Lounges, previously held at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn and Understory in Miami. These events have featured performances and DJ sets from notable artists like Flying Lotus, David Duchovny, Ben Stiller, DOMi & JD BECK, Rich Medina, Kamaal Williams, the Onyx Collective, among others.
Art Basel’s esteemed fair in the Americas returns to Miami Beach for its 21st edition this December. It will gather 277 leading galleries from around the globe, showcasing a remarkable array of high-level art. This onsite presentation will be augmented by a comprehensive visitor program, both within and beyond the fair’s boundaries, enabled by Art Basel’s premier exhibitors and distinguished cultural partners and collaborators across Miami Beach and South Florida.
