Seasons don’t really exist here in South Florida. The weather is flawless year round and you can always catch the countries best pool parties no matter what day it is. So here’s a trick question: how can you tell when summer has officially begun? Arguably, it starts with the countdown to the 12th Annual Irie Weekend.

365 days of the year, the Irie Foundation empowers and encourages South Florida’s at-risk youth towards education and culture with mentorship programs, experiences and scholarship opportunities. Its mission is to “inspire and encourage its students to graduate high school, pursue higher education and develop into successful adults.”

And to support and celebrate the cause, from June 22-25, the event will gather its usual crowd of the hottest locals, vacationers, and celebrities. This year’s list includes Jamie Foxx, AKON, T-Pain, and Dru Hill, to name a few. Countless other stars will be performing and celebrating the three-day event at several nightclubs, golf clubs, and at the Shelborne Wyndham Grand hotel which has been transformed into the Irie Weekend Hotel for the occasion.

Kicking off the festivities is the Irie Foundation #InspIRIE Gala on Wednesday, June 22nd, 2016 at 6:00pm at the Irie Weekend Hotel. Jamie Foxx will be hosting the multi-course dinner, auction, and performances that night. Enjoy custom made menu and cocktail pairings by world famous celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito while listening to internationally acclaimed pianist Elews special performance.

And on Thursday, June 23rd at the #InspIRIE Kids Golf Clinic LPGA Pro, Paula Pearson-Tucker leads a game with guests, celebrities, and Irie Foundation students. A concert will be held later that night at the Irie Weekend Hotel with a live performance by AKON. Guests will be treated to gourmet bites and cocktails as they are transported to one of Irie’s European tour stops, Mykonos, Greece. The foundation reminds guest to wear white in honor of the occasion!

Another spectacular golf tournament hits off Friday, June 24th, 2016 at 11:30am. Located at the Miami Beach Golf Club, guests are invited to test their skills with IRIE and his celebrity friends in the lap of luxury. Golfers will be treated to custom game day outfits, entertainment, beverages, and food by Jimmy Johns, Ruth’s Chris, Brother Jimmy’s BBQ, Grillmans & NaiYaRa, plus open bars stocked with top-shelf refreshments by Breakthru Beverage. The festivities resume that night at LIV nightclub with exclusive DJ sets and a live performance by the iconic group, DRU HILL.

Saving the best for the last day of celebrations, IWXII invites guests to the BBQ Beach Bash Saturday noon at the Irie Weekend Hotel. With music and poolside lounging and Grillmans finest meats along with signature cocktails and cold drinks, it’s paradise and exactly what a summer party should look like. The event also promises a secret surprise with a live performance. With Irie Weekend’s reputation for amazing VIP list of celebs, all that’s left to say is “something wicked this way comes” and get ready to be stunned.

For As much as it may hurt to say goodbye to this fantastic lineup, the closing celebration will blow up the SOBE scene with live DJ set & performance by Grammy Award winning artist T-Pain. Guests will enjoy theatrical aerial performances and celebrate the beginning of yet another season dedicated to doing what Miami does best: living large and in the sunshine. Don’t miss it and spend the year waiting for the 13th Annual Irie Weekend in 2017 to kickstart your vacation time.
