PAMM Premieres INTERTIDAL Biennial with Floating Films and Media Art on the Bay

A bayfront block party of video art, floating films, and interactive installations celebrating Miami’s media art scene.

The 2025 edition of INTERTIDAL, Pérez Art Museum Miami’s biennial celebration of contemporary media art, premieres this Thursday, April 17, from 6 to 10 pm. Set on the museum’s bayfront terrace, this year’s event will showcase a diverse range of works that expand the boundaries of video art, all through the lens of Miami’s unique cultural landscape.

The biennial features five landmark video works by renowned artists Yucef Merhi, Jacolby Satterwhite, Keisha Rae Witherspoon, Domingo Castillo Flores, and LIZN’BOW. Each artist brings a fresh perspective, reflecting on Miami’s ongoing transformations—culturally, ecologically, and digitally. Their works push the limits of media art, offering new ways of engaging with the world around us.

The highlight of the evening will be a 50-foot floating screen visible from the museum’s waterfront terrace, where the featured video pieces will be displayed. The event will also include interactive media installations from some of Miami’s leading arts organizations, including Locust Projects and the Miami Film Festival, offering guests the chance to engage directly with the art and explore its digital possibilities.

As part of the celebration, the night will unfold in three distinct phases:

The first phase, from 6–8 pm, will feature happy hour, AI figure drawing sessions, community activations, and a set by DJ Pressure Point. At 8–9 pm, the PAMMTV INTERTIDAL premiere screening will take center stage, showcasing the five featured artists’ works. The evening will culminate with an afterparty from 9–10 pm, featuring a set by DJ Niña, bringing the waterfront celebration to a close.

The five video works will also be available for streaming on PAMMTV, the museum’s unique platform for video art, and will remain accessible through April 2026. In addition, the works will be shown in PAMM’s auditorium, offering both in-person and digital audiences the chance to experience the biennial’s groundbreaking pieces. This offers an opportunity for those unable to attend the event to experience the biennial’s innovative work from the comfort of their own homes.

INTERTIDAL 2025 promises to be a dynamic fusion of art, technology, and community—an immersive experience that showcases how digital art continues to evolve in one of the most vibrant cities in the world.

Don’t miss it—Thursday, April 17, from 6 to 10pm at Pérez Art Museum Miami, 1103 Biscayne Blvd.
