A dining experience shaped by restraint, where cuisine, design, and atmosphere unfold with quiet confidence.
Riviera Dining Group expanded its Florida presence on November 22 with the opening of AVA MediterrAegean in Coconut Grove, unveiling the brand’s most fully realized flagship to date. Building on the success of its Winter Park location, the new outpost reflects a refined blend of contemporary Greek cuisine, considered design, and an atmosphere shaped by intention rather than spectacle.
The culinary program is led by RDG Partner and Head of Culinary Chef Michaël Michaelidis, alongside Executive Chef Frédéric Aumeunier, whose approach honors Greek tradition while allowing room for modern interpretation. Inspired by the Cycladic islands, the menu draws from both land and sea, presenting composed, soulful dishes such as Aegean Tuna Ceviche, Mediterranean Seabass Carpaccio, Lobster Pasta, and Lamb Moussaka, each prepared with clarity, balance, and respect for the ingredients.

Design plays an equally central role in the experience. Conceived by Lazaro Rosa-Violán, the space blends Greek island minimalism with a subtle Miami sensibility. Natural Mediterranean materials, custom furnishings, and commissioned artworks shape a sculptural dining room that opens onto an airy terrace, creating a quiet dialogue between interior and exterior.
Tucked discreetly within the flagship is AVA MM, a private, members-only retreat conceived as a more intimate counterpart to the main dining room. Designed for discretion and continuity, it offers a layered experience for guests seeking privacy without stepping away from the restaurant’s core identity.

With AVA MediterrAegean Coconut Grove, Riviera Dining Group continues to refine its approach to hospitality—where culinary precision, thoughtful design, and a measured sense of place come together to create an experience that lingers well beyond the table.
