The 27th Annual InterContinental® Miami Make-A-Wish® Ball on Saturday, November 5, which was headlined by the legendary Diana Ross at InterContinental® Miami was a huge success raising over $5.4 million. This will enable the Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida Chapter to grant numerous life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. To date they have granted 13,000 wishes locally and will add another 600 in 2022.
The global superstar, Diana Ross performed a riveting concert for Ball guests including a grand entrance to her chart-topping hit, “I’m Coming Out.” Actress and filmmaker Gabrielle Anwar made her return as celebrity emcee of the Ball for the 11th year. Singer-songwriter Alisan Porter also performed. Entertainment and decor were once again over the top, transforming the InterContinental Hotel for the “Supernature” theme.
Nine hundred (900) Ball guests were welcomed by Glenn Sampert, Gala Host of the InterContinental® Miami Make-A-Wish® Ball and General Manager of InterContinental® Miami; Shareef M. Malnik, Gala Chair of the InterContinental® Miami Make-A-Wish® Ball for the past 17 years, and Chairman Emeritus of Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida; and Norman Wedderburn, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida.
Mayor of Miami Francis Suarez was in attendance, as well as other notables including Jonathan Cheban (FOODGOD) and Real Housewives of Miami stars Lisa Hochstein, Adriana de Moura, Kiki Barth, Larsa Pippen, and Dr. Nicole Martin.
The official afterparty — Snow Beast: The InterContinental® Miami Make-A-Wish® Nightclub presented by E11EVEN Vodka — was headlined by five-time Grammy Award-winning artist CeeLo Green, who performed a Miami-inspired set along with a selection of his hit songs. The late-night party featured burlesque and musical performances by Undercover, Gyasi Heus, Yoli Mayor, Lux-O-Matic, and Forealism.
