Star Island VIP gala honors NFL athlete, Jim Brown before Super Bowl LIV

February 2 – In the illustrious words of the Carters, “Last night was a f*cking zoo.” Nowhere was that truth more evident than Saturday night on Star Island.

The wealthy enclave housed a celebrity-filled party hosted by director Micheal Bay and actors, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul. Hollywood’s elite, along with South Florida’s politicians and athletes, held an auction to raise funds to benefit charity at a private fete.

South Florida’s maniac weather of rain and sunshine didn’t deter attendees from arriving to a VIP party that was held at a $65 million estate last night.

Held on the heels of Super Bowl LIV, the party was not short of celebrities or athletes, with sightings from actors Scott Eastwood, Keegan-Michael Key, Cuba Gooding Jr., and model Karolina Kurkova. 

Singers Kevin Lyttle and Jamie Foxx, who also served as an emcee, performed for guests.

South Florida’s local dignitaries were also spotted on the scene, including the City of Miami Gardens Mayor Oliver Gilbert III and the Mayor of Miami-Dade County Carlos A. Gimenez.

Guests participated in silent and live auctions; enjoyed curated pop-up cocktail stations, and ate meals by award-winning chef Adrianne Calvo.

The party honored National Football Association (NFL) legend and social activist Jim Brown with the Giving Back Fund’s annual Philanthropic Achievement Award. Ray Lewis, Super Bowl XXXV Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Hall of Famer, presented Brown with the esteemed award.

The Mayor of Miami Francis X. Suarez gave Brown a key to the City of Miami. 

Billed as the Big Game Big Give (BGBG) courtesy of The Giving Back Fund, the proceeds from the gala benefited many local non-profit organizations including the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. 

The charity auction was presented by Oasis House.
