When the legend and music icon Prince was found dead on April 21 in his suburban Minneapolis home at age 57, the entire nation was heartbroken. But perhaps even more devastated than his fans, was close friend, comrade, and rumored lover Madonna.

“He Changed The World!! A True Visionary. What a loss. I’m Devastated. This is Not A Love Song,” Madonna captioned a pic of her and Prince wearing matching yellow jackets. But the real heart-wrenching tribute comes in the form of a live performance at Billboard Music Awards May 22.

Though details about the show haven’t been released yet, Madonna will honor Prince’s legacy as the icon of pop music at the awards, which will air live on ABC from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Hosting the show are Ludacris and Ciara, with featured performances by Britney Spears, Justin Bieber, the Go-Go’s, Celine Dion and Pink.

And living up to Prince’s own 2013 Billboard icon award are Adele, Bieber, Drake, Taylor Swift and the Weeknd as the nominees for this year’s top artist.
