At Pebble Beach Car Week 2024 a mystery buyer acquired a one‑off from Automobili Pininfarina and was first presented during Monterey Car Week. Months later it was revealed the mystery buyer was an infamous auto collector, none other than Michael Jordan. Adding a bespoke Pininfarina creation to his private collection only underscores the house’s status among the world’s most discerning collectors. Beyond automobiles, Pininfarina’s influence reaches architecture and product design, exemplified by the landmark Torre Única residential tower in Buenos Aires’ Puerto Madero district, where the firm reinvents luxury urban living through innovation, elegance and human‑centered design.

The evening’s program at the Pérez Art Museum Miami reflected both Pininfarina’s heritage and its forward-looking spirit. The night opened with remarks by the Consul General of Italy in Miami, Hon. Michele Mistò, alongside Pininfarina of America’s leadership team: Claudio Da Soller, General Manager; Paolo Trevisan, VP of Design; and Samuele Sordi, Chief Architect Officer. Their presence underscored the company’s enduring commitment to creativity and collaboration.
A highlight of the evening was the panel discussion, “A Journey Through Design: 95 Years of the Pininfarina Ecosystem.” The conversation brought together C-level executives and leading voices from architecture, interior design, product, industrial, and mobility design sectors. Panelists explored the evolution of Pininfarina’s design language in a changing world, reflecting on how its philosophy continues to shape meaningful human experiences and inspire innovation across global markets.
Empowering the Next Generation of Designers
Pininfarina also announced a new scholarship program in partnership with Istituto Marangoni Miami, providing one full and two half-tuition scholarships for the Master of Fine Arts in Interior Design program, totaling more than $100,000. This initiative supports aspiring designers in advancing their education while strengthening the connection between academic excellence and real-world design innovation.

During the cocktail reception, guests experienced a curated exhibition that brought Pininfarina’s multidisciplinary legacy to life. Displayed scale models, modular furniture collections, and framed visuals highlighted the firm’s distinctive approach to form and function. A selection of Pininfarina-designed automobiles from private collectors celebrated its automotive heritage, including a 1965 Ferrari 275 GTB, 2015 Ferrari Sergio, and Automobili Pininfarina Battista Novantacinque.
The Barn Miami, a distinguished classic car dealership known for its curated collection of rare and historically significant automobiles, partnered with Pininfarina for the anniversary celebration by providing several of the showcased cars. Their collaboration enhanced the exhibition’s authenticity and paid tribute to the enduring partnership between collectors and designers who preserve the artistry of Italian automotive design. Also present at the event was the newly-opened Braman Automobili Pininfarina of Palm Beach in West Palm Beach, Florida, the brand’s dedicated dealership catering to high-performance luxury car clients in the Sunshine State.On the waters of Biscayne Bay, boats designed by Pininfarina offered a striking demonstration of the brand’s timeless elegance across all design disciplines.
