Just a few weeks ago, tennis icon, Serena Williams broke world records with her 22nd slam title at Wimbledon. Williams lifted both arms overhead and raised two fingers on each hand right there on Centre Court to show off the magic number after winning her record-tying 22nd Grand Slam singles title by beating Angelique Kerber 7-5, 6-3 in the Wimbledon final. “Yeah, it’s been incredibly difficult not to think about it. I had a couple of tries this year, but it makes the victory even sweeter to know how hard I worked for it.” Williams said during the trophy ceremony. The 34-year old’s aces came at a high of 124 mph where she absolutely crushed her opponent, Angelique Kerber.

It was breezy, but that didn’t seem to hamper Williams, whose older sister, Venus sat in her guest box, a couple of seats over from music’s power couple of Beyoncé and Jay-Z. In the grand tradition of Beyoncé distracting everybody on the sidelines of sporting events, Queen B and her hubby Hova were spotted seated behind Williams’ mother in the stands on day 12 of the tournament at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London. Beyonce has been performing nonstop as part of her Formation world tour and is somewhat of a superwoman and even on her days off she’s busy in the public eye. She made sure to support her friend Serena Williams at Wimbledon by turning up for the match. Wearing coordinated white ensembles, Bey paired her lacy Self Portrait frock with dark circular glasses and her long braids in a sleek high rope braid on top of her head, while Jay opted for a classic white tee and a black baseball cap. The presence of high-status individuals at this legendary sporting event has led to its synonymous prestige making it a great occasion for corporate events in wimbledon, with its world-class hospitality.

Matching the tennis theme, the Lemonade star wore a lace-collared high neck white outfit and covered her flawless glowing complexion with quirky round sunglasses. Queen Bey looked amazing in a white lace ruffle mini dress. Any signs of tiredness were covered with a stylish pair of her statement sunnies and Beyoncé was all smiles for the game. She might have access to any designer brand she wants, but today Beyoncé kept things fairly accessible, and you might be pleased to hear that you too can buy her cute white off shoulder mini dress. It’s by Self Portrait, a brand loved for their sweet and feminine dresses the world over. Beyoncé’s style with lace collar and long sleeves, and off the shoulder frill design is making waves in the blogosphere of fashion and trends.

Serena Williams recently made a cameo dancing alongside Beyonce in her ‘Sorry’ music video during the release of her visual album ‘Lemonade,’ where she danced in a black leotard as the singer watched, sitting on a thrown. “I’ve known Bey for a long time,” Williams told the Wall Street Journal Magazine last month. She continues, “I have known the director since I was like nine years old. I know Beyonce pretty well, so they were like, ‘We would love for you to be in this particular song. It’s about strength and it’s about courage and that’s what we see you as. She told me that she just wants me to dance, like just be really free and just dance like nobody’s looking and go all out. So that wasn’t easy in the beginning, but then it got easier” -Serena says about being in the “Sorry” video.

The video, which has 77 million views on YouTube, opens with the 34-year-old singer on a bus with a group of women with painted faces. It then moves into a lavish-looking mansion where Bey lounges on a throne while Serena dances up and down the hallway. The video is influential in pop culture beyond its years with its themes of female empowerment and strength. As time goes on, Serena Williams will continue to slay on and off the court. Women and girls around the world will continue to look up to her as a source of inspiration and emulation. As time goes on, Serena will continue to break records and be one of the most important and influential figures of tennis, fashion and pop culture. I for one, am looking forward to seeing what she slays next!
