The glitzy and glamorous 35th Annual American Image Awards took place on the waters, aboard the IntrepidSea, Air and SpaceMuseum in NYC. The red carpet was filled with notable industry execs and celebs in attendance dressed in floor length gowns and tailored tuxedos hosted by the American Apparel & Footwear Association.
Among those who took part in the night’s festivities was fashion designer, Rachel Roy, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Plaxico Burress who recently launched a luxury sock line, The Plaxico Burress Collection. His event was sponsored in part by Maserati of Manhattan and Ferrari of Long Island at sexy XVI Rooftop.
Olympian, Sasha Cohen, hosts for the evening Tony award winners Bernadette Peters (Smash, Annie) and Brian Stokes Mitchell (Jumping the Broom, Ugly Betty) along with key note Speaker actor Bill Pullman (Independence Day, 1600 Penn) walked the red carpet with honored uniformed retired veterans. Guests and VIP attendees, Debi Mazar (Goodfellas, Entourage) and others were escorted into a dining area were the main event took place. Huge screens were the backdrops that showed black and white movies. Wes Card, Man of the Year Award and Saks Corporation were given a special tribute. Designer, Tory Burch also presented the Retailer of the Year Award and Rebecca Minkoff received Designer of the Year Award.
All in all the evening was a huge success as more awareness was brought to the Wounded Warrior Project.
