The second leg of the coveted Sports Illustrated (SI) Swimsuit 2016 unveiling made a splash Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 17, as SI invaded sunny Miami for a star-studded line-up, kicking off with “Swim Beach” as Lummus Park played host to the festivities. The two-day fan fair welcomed crowds to the tune of the hundreds, who had a chance to get up close and personal with some of their favorite SI models, including 2016 cover girls Ashley Graham and Hailey Clauson, for autograph signings, live performances, and more. Day seamlessly turned into night as the models strutted the red carpet at the swanky 1 Hotel South Beach for a private event, then celebrated the release with a guest-list only concert by Wiz Khalifa at Story nightclub Wednesday night.
More than 20 SI models sashayed down the red carpet, from Gigi Hadid and Lily Aldridge to Chanel Iman and Samantha Hoopes.
Other VIPs spotted in attendance were superstar singer John Legend, doting husband to exotic, and very-pregnant, beauty Chrissy Teigen, actor Ryan Phillippe, Wiz Khalifa, Miami Marlins rightfielder Giancarlo Stanton, Florida Panther Aaron Ekblad, TV personality Peter Miller, actor Omar Benson Miller, and Miami Beach’s own Mayor Philip Levine.
Day 2 turned up the heat with the final day of the festival topping off with a sexy soirée aboard the SeaFair megayacht. Before we toasted to the highly-anticipated launch, L’Etage had a chance to schmooze with the bevy of beauties for a model face-off as they bared it all…their guilty pleasures, boy toys, and the age-old question: boxers or briefs- swimwear edition of course!
