The debut of Sweat USA powered by Reebok – the nation’s first All-Star Fitness Festival was a huge Success! Jillian Michaels joins Shaun T. and Tony Horton, along with some of the world’s most renowned brand personalities in health and wellness, to stamp South Florida as the Fitness Capital of the World.
Jillian Michaels is famous for her time on the NBC’s hit The Biggest Loser, wanted to show the world that she can stay fit even with being the mother of two. “If you can find four half-hours a week, you’re winning,” Michaels says.
Tony Horton (P90X) and Shaun T. (Insanity) join some of the world’s most renowned trainers that represented more than a dozen of the latest workout programs. The latest workout programs included Zumba’s Heidy Torres, Brazilian Butt Lift’s Leandro Carvalho and Piloxing’s Viveca Jensen. They had combined the Flywheel, Cross Fit, and MMA instructions. South Florida native and celebrity fitness model Jennifer Nicole Lee had hosted the JNL Fusion. It was designed to help people lose weight, burn fat, and build lean muscles.
Joe Anthony founder of Sweat USA, said Miami was the best location for this event, because “We knew we had talent that drew form an international market base, and we could compound that in a warm-weather-climate market.”
“They call it a fitness concert. It’s a serious platform,” Anthony says. “We know fitness is huge and growing, and there are all kinds of new regimes and innovations. We’re helping not only the hard-core but the casual enthusiast who is looking for a routine. It’s about discovery and providing people with options so they can tailor their regimens.”But Michaels and the other stars aren’t the only attraction, he notes.”Homegrown trainers are important, because they are on the cusp of the trends,” Anthony says. “They could be the Jillian’s or the Sean T’s of tomorrow.”
Wilhelmina Models hosted its Fitness Model Search in the main exhibition hall, inviting attendees to sign-up to become selected as the agency’s next brand ambassador, while the Wilhelmina Fitness Model Boot camp held its intensive 4-part fitness experience led by Nike Master Trainer, Traci Copeland, “The Next Fitness Star” finalist, Jam Murphy and CJ Koegel from MTV’s “Real World” and “Battle of the Seasons.”
Jennifer Pansa led the power yoga practice each morning at The Mondrian South Beach, together with Vera Kalyan, Reebok’s yoga instructor, while Sweet + Thrasher Pilates also hosted morning poolside sessions focusing on strength and flexibility.
Also among the thousands of attendees at Sweat USA in Miami Beach was Daymond John, from Shark Tank, and supermodel, Karolina Kurkova.
