Tennis greats return to the court at Continuum South Beach, raising support for the International Tennis Hall of Fame and its Be Legendary global youth initiative.
The clay courts of Continuum South Beach recently played host to an impressive assembly of tennis greats and residents for the Fourth Annual Continuum Tennis Fundraiser, held on March 28, 2026. The event was dedicated to supporting youth programmes through the International Tennis Hall of Fame and its global Be Legendary initiative.
Set within one of Miami Beach’s most prestigious oceanfront residential enclaves, the gathering brought together community members and figures whose names remain etched in the history of the sport. The morning’s programme blended philanthropy with spirited play, offering participants the rare opportunity to step onto the court alongside athletes who once dominated the professional tour.
Among the distinguished guests were the legendary doubles partnership of Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan. The American twins reshaped modern doubles tennis during a career spanning nearly two decades, amassing an extraordinary record of achievements, including 16 Grand Slam men’s doubles titles and over 100 ATP tour victories. Their synchronized movement and competitive instinct made them one of the most formidable partnerships the sport has ever witnessed, ultimately securing their place within the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

Joining them was Tommy Haas, the former world number two whose career remains admired for its longevity and resilience. The German-born player first rose to prominence in the late 1990s with an elegant all-court game and an exceptional backhand. Despite enduring multiple serious injuries and surgeries, Haas returned repeatedly to elite competition, claiming titles well into his thirties. Today he continues to shape the sport as the long-standing tournament director of the prestigious BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.
The day began with a breakfast reception on the Patio lawn, where guests mingled with the tennis icons while participating in a silent auction supporting the Hall of Fame’s youth programming. Senior representatives from the International Tennis Hall of Fame, including CEO Dan Faber and Executive Vice President of Revenue Jeff Harrison, were present to underscore the broader ambitions of the initiative.
At the heart of the event were on-court sessions that transformed the Continuum Tennis Center into a dynamic training ground. Rather than a traditional exhibition, the format allowed residents to rotate between courts, participating directly in drills, rally exercises, and friendly competition led by Haas and the Bryan Brothers. The atmosphere remained light-hearted yet focused as participants tested their volleys and footwork under the guidance of athletes who once performed on the sport’s grandest stages.

The morning concluded with a celebratory lunch and trophy presentation recognising standout performances. Shelly Bressler received the award for Most Improved Player, Lu Goldman was honoured as Best Team Player, and Isabelle Rovner earned recognition for Best Put Away Shot. Guests departed with gift bags provided by event sponsor Augustinus Bader.
For organiser Steven Michaelson, the fundraiser reflected the power of sport to unite community and purpose. “Raising funds for the ITHF initiative Be Legendary turned out to be a great time for an even better cause,” he said, noting co-organiser Stacey Cooper and the collective efforts that made the day possible.
Dan Faber echoed that sentiment, emphasising the importance of local support in sustaining programmes that introduce tennis to young players across the world.

Through initiatives such as Be Legendary, the International Tennis Hall of Fame aims to expand access to the sport while preserving its heritage. Events like the Continuum fundraiser serve as a reminder that tennis is defined not only by championship trophies or historic matches, but also by the mentorship and encouragement that shape the champions of tomorrow.
