Miami is becoming a highly recognized, worldwide culinary hotspot with top chefs and renowned restaurants popping up all over town. Brickell, the upscale financial district that once was hungry for better restaurants on the block, is starting to receive a lot of praise. With the rise of luxury condos and worldly residents now calling it “home”, restaurateurs are realizing that they need to satisfy their palates with higher end, quality eateries.
Here are four notable and a few world-famous restaurants that have recently opened or are slated to open soon in the heart of Brickell this year:
- COYA (opened March 2015): the award-winning South American concept (with locations in London and Dubai), is about to celebrate its one-year anniversary next month and it has already become a mainstay in the city’s culinary and lifestyle scenes. The dishes represent the evolution of Peruvian cuisine as it has been shaped by a myriad of cultures from Latin America, Asia, and Europe. Its Pisco Bar has garnered a lot of attention for its innovative programming with live music, and a wide range of naturally infused in-house Piscos, with flavorful spices, fruits and herbs. This globally-inspired luxury South American dining destination has recently developed an exclusive partnership with Macchu Pisco. Owned by sisters Melanie and Lizzie Asher, Peruvian natives and Harvard business and law graduates, Macchu Pisco is Peru’s leading pisco being exported internationally.
- Da Tang Unique (opened February 2016): The highly anticipated restaurant opened its doors this month in the north tower of The Four Ambassadors Hotel in Brickell. Limited to the Miami area, Da Tang Unique offers the most authentic Chinese menus inspired by the restaurant’s founder, Dr. Shanjie Li’s homeland. Dr. Li is a renowned real estate guru and CEO of American Da Tang Group Co. Ltd., and believes strongly that in a city as rich in flavor as Miami, an injection of Chinese culture will only bolster the city’s standing as a truly international metropolitan area. The restaurant is helmed by Chef Kang Liu, a culinary star from Beijing with over 30 years of experience serving top leaders and dignitaries in China. Using the highest quality ingredients, Da Tang offers extensive and impressive menus for lunch, dinner, and dim sum– all inspired by China’s Canton and Beijing regions along with a combination of local Miami flavors.
- CAVIAR RUSSE (opening March 2016): After more than 20 years on Madison Avenue, the Michelin starred restaurant and premier caviar brand, Caviar Russe, decided to introduce the world’s most precious gourmet delicacy to the thriving Brickell, Miami neighborhood.
