To build a nest means putting a personal space together piece by piece. In the end, no two nests are alike … they are a creation of personal style and a reflection of individual taste

Sara Colombo, Founder, NEST.

NEST is proud to present TERRY O’NEILL: “It Girls & Boys,” an exhibition of iconic photographs by the legendary British photographer, curated by The Little Black Gallery of London exclusively for NEST (120 North East 39th Street, Miami, Florida 33137). The exhibit features some of O’Neill’s most famous and memorable pieces including images of Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot, Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra, and Raquel Welch among many others. For the unveiling of this unique stateside exhibit, Terry O’Neill will personally introduce a 35 piece photography collection that will be on display and available for purchase at NEST until June 2013 and signing copies of a selection of his books.

Known for its artful selections, the collaboration with famed photographer O’Neill is a perfect partnership as his work reflects as much personality and life as each furnishing and accessory available at NEST.  With commitment to quality craftsmanship in each showcased piece, Colombo ’s store is also reminiscent of O’Neill’s iconic work: never going out of style.

NEST, in the heart of  Miami ’s dynamic Design District, is a 2,400-square-foot home emporium where beautifully imagined, finely sourced European furnishings, lighting, imported textiles, accessories and art are showcased in an environment that nurtures comfort and exclusivity. One enters a modern showroom with a workspace approach to interior design, where designers and aficionados will find a one-stop shop of limited edition and handmade pieces. Here, the attention is on inventory that is personally selected to ensure every project reflects style, individuality and refined elegance.

With a vast inventory that covers every category, as well as custom and vintage, NEST attracts top interior designers and homeowners who are seeking high-quality, superior pieces not found anywhere else. In demand by leading interior designers and their clients, NEST has become known as a one-of-a-kind design leader for its fine artistry in custom upholstery, custom finishes, custom sizes and its ability to fulfill highly specialized, individual requests.

With a flagship Miami Design District showroom, nearby warehouse and online store, NEST has a vast inventory that ensures merchandise is available immediately. And, unlike big-box chain stores, the store’s unparalleled selection is ever changing to ensure a diverse array of items that are personally chosen and sourced. Offering a wide range of fine European goods, including Missoni Home, the shop has garnered a reputation as one of  Miami ‘s pre-eminent style icons for home furnishings and décor.

Terry O’Neill (b 1938) is one of the greatest British photographers of the twentieth century.  He has achieved worldwide success documenting fashion, style and celebrities from the 1960s until the present day.  He has photographed countless icons during his 50 year career with his distinct style of capturing his subjects in unconventional or candid settings.  Terry O’Neill’s iconic photographs of Elton John are among his most well-known. A selection of them appeared in the 2008 book, Eltonography. Also considered among his most famous images are a series of shots showing American actress Faye Dunaway (his girlfriend at the time) at dawn on March 29, 1977, lounging next to the swimming pool at the Beverly Hills Hotel the morning after winning the Academy Award for Best Actress for Network, with several newspapers scattered around her and her Oscar statuette prominently shown on a table beside her breakfast tray. The series was photographed in both color and black & white. One black & white from the series hangs in the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery in London .

NEST will open a second location dedicated to home and gift accessories at Bal Harbour Shops late this spring.
