The ceremony marks the beginning of a historic tournament across North America, with Los Angeles hosting one of three opening celebrations for FIFA World Cup 2026™.
The FIFA World Cup 2026™ will open with a major celebration in Los Angeles, bringing together football, music, and entertainment as the United States welcomes fans from around the world for the start of the tournament.
On Friday, June 12, the opening ceremony at Los Angeles Stadium will feature performances from Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, LISA, Rema, and Tyla. Additional artists are expected to be announced ahead of the event.
“This opening ceremony in Los Angeles represents the extraordinary scale of what the FIFA World Cup 2026 will become,” said Gianni Infantino. “The lineup of artists reflects the cultural diversity of the United States and the vibrancy of its many diasporas, highlighting the nation’s influence on music, entertainment and pop culture.”
Fans attending the match are encouraged to arrive early, with stadium gates opening four hours before kickoff. The ceremony will begin 90 minutes before the opening match and will include live entertainment, activations, and pre-match programming throughout the venue.
For the first time in FIFA World Cup™ history, three opening ceremonies will take place across North America, with celebrations in Mexico City on June 11 and Toronto and Los Angeles on June 12.
Produced in partnership with Balich Wonder Studio, the Los Angeles ceremony will feature large-scale visuals, live performances, and immersive storytelling inspired by the spirit of the tournament and the identity of the host nation.
The United States will face Paraguay in the opening match of the FIFA World Cup 2026™. The tournament will feature a record 104 matches across 16 Host Cities, beginning June 11 in Mexico City and concluding July 19 at New York New Jersey Stadium.
