An ongoing partnership that uses design as a platform for giving back.

On Thursday, January 29, the Miami Design District hosted its annual Art of Giving Back charity event at the AMIRI boutique, spotlighting a limited-edition cycling jersey designed by Los Angeles–based artist Lauren Halsey. The evening centered on the Miami Design District team participating in the Dolphins Cancer Challenge (DCC) XVI and raised awareness for cancer research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.

The gathering was led by Craig Robins of Dacra and Mike Amiri of AMIRI, bringing together leaders from art, fashion, sports, and local business. Guests could register on site to join the cycling team and fundraise in real time.

Halsey’s jersey, created in partnership with Rapha, reflects her signature aesthetic, translating striking artistic details into functional performance wear. DCC XVI, the Dolphins Cancer Challenge’s annual ride, run, and walk, will take place on February 28, 2026, at Hard Rock Stadium, uniting the South Florida community to support those impacted by cancer.

For Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center — South Florida’s only National Cancer Institute–designated facility — the DCC is more than a fundraiser. Contributions support research, patient care, and clinical programs under the leadership of Dr. Nimer, directly translating community support into advances in cancer treatment and prevention.

Halsey joins a lineage of artists who have contributed to the Miami Design District x DCC jersey project, following Mario Ayala, Bisa Butler, Daniel Arsham, and Urs Fischer, each bringing a distinct perspective on how art can engage community and inspire action.

As February’s DCC XVI approaches, the Art of Giving Back charity event highlighted the intersection of creativity, philanthropy, and community, demonstrating how cultural initiatives can drive meaningful impact for causes like cancer research.

Notable guests in attendance included: AMIRI Founder and Creative Director, Mike Amiri; Dacra CEO and President, Craig Robins; Miami Dolphins players, Malik Washington, Patrick Paul, and Jonah Savaiinaea; Artists, Amani Lewis and Zak Ové; Director, Stephen D.
