Miami Design District (MDD) is blurring the lines between art, design, and sport with a limited-edition Pro Team Training Jersey created in collaboration with acclaimed artist Lauren Halsey and Rapha. The jersey serves as a new canvas for Halsey’s visual language, translating her sculptural sensibility into a form built for motion and endurance.
For Halsey, everyday surroundings are never passive. Signage, architecture, and the visual rhythms of her South Central Los Angeles community have long informed her practice, shaping work that moves between art, the built environment, and civic expression. That same language appears here through graphic forms and layered patterns that stretch and shift with the body, turning a cycling jersey into something closer to a moving artwork.
The jersey will be worn by members of the MDD cycling team during the Dolphins Cancer Challenge (DCC) and will also be available for purchase at Rapha Miami and online at DesignDistrict.com. The project bridges contemporary art, performance wear, and community engagement, appearing across several events in early 2026, including the DCC’s “Ride With The Champs” event and the main Dolphins Cancer Challenge ride at Hard Rock Stadium on February 28.
“Lauren’s work challenges boundaries between art, architecture, and activism,” says Craig Robins, President and CEO of Dacra and a longtime collector of Halsey’s work. “To have her voice represented through this jersey within the Dolphins Cancer Challenge is both meaningful and momentous.”
Halsey joins a notable lineage of past MDD × DCC collaborators, including Mario Ayala, Bisa Butler, Daniel Arsham, Urs Fischer, and Harmony Korine—artists who have helped redefine what a cycling jersey can represent. With this project, Halsey continues her exploration of community, culture, and form, turning design into something that moves through the world rather than sitting still.
