BitBasel Celebrates 5th Anniversary  with The Future of the Arts at Miami Art Week highlighting the Convergence of Art and Technology at the Sagamore Hotel

This December, BitBasel, Miami’s pioneering platform bridging art and technology, marks its fifth anniversary during Miami Art Week 2024 with a transformative celebration of the Future of the Arts. Hosted at the iconic Sagamore Hotel, this milestone event is headlined by Eternal Creations, a collection of pure silver sculptures cast from Michelangelo’s original masterpieces, alongside cutting-edge installations that redefine artistic expression in the Web3 era.

Eternal Creations is an extraordinary collection of seven pure silver casts of Michelangelo Buonarroti’s most iconic sculptures, a snapshot of an 87-piece collection, which will be complemented by a pure gold and pure platinum collection. These one-of-a-kind works were crafted using the original negative molds preserved by Florence’s historic Fonderia Artistica Ferdinando Marinelli, entrusted by Pope Pius XI before World War II to safeguard the Vatican’s priceless art treasures.

BitBasel amplifies its relevance in the digital age as the official technology partner for the Eternal Creations collection. By digitizing and tokenizing representations of these extraordinary sculptures, BitBasel willoffer an innovative way to engage with and collect this historical artwork, ultimately connecting the physical and digital worlds.

Unveiled for the first time at  Miami Art Week, these masterpieces are authenticated by their direct lineage to Michelangelo’s originals, offering collectors and enthusiasts a rare glimpse of history reimagined. Highlights of the collection include:

  • Pietà: A 1-of-1 pure silver cast measuring 69 x 68 x 42 inches, the largest pure silver sculpture ever created.
  • Battle of the Centaurs (33 x 36 inches) and Madonna of the Stairs (22 x 15.8 inches): Stunningly intricate depictions showcasing Michelangelo’s emotional depth.
  • Pitti Tondo and Taddei Tondo (33.5-inch and 42-inch diameters): Intimate portrayals of the Madonna with the infant Saint John, exemplifying Michelangelo’s tender precision.
  • Silver David: A 6-foot-tall partial cast of the legendary statue, encapsulating idealized beauty and strength.
  • Belvedere Torso: A 5.2-foot-tall sculpture highlighting dynamic form and muscular precision, revered by Michelangelo as a symbol of human strength.

This historic collection, exclusively represented by Treasure Investments and distributed through the MOA Gallery on Ocean Drive, will be displayed in the Sagamore Hotel lobby, offering a blend of classical heritage and contemporary luxury.

Beyond the Eternal Creations exhibition, BitBasel’s 5th-anniversary event will feature a robust lineup of events designed to inspire and engage audiences. BitBasel’s pride lies in turning spaces into unique, memorable experience destinations that have one goal – creating times of wonder for an ever-evolving community.

As Miami continues to thrive as a global tech hub, BitBasel stands at the forefront, empowering creators and redefining artistic expression in the digital age.

Attendees can look forward to thought-provoking panel discussions, hands-on workshops, and immersive digital art showcases that highlight the intersection of art and technology.
